Roof rats and attic activity
Roof rats are strong climbers. Mature trees, fences, roof returns, soffits, vents, and utility lines can let them reach attics and wall voids. If you hear movement at night above bedrooms or find droppings in attic insulation, say exactly where it is happening.
Ground-level rat pressure
Norway rats are more likely around burrows, trash areas, drainage edges, sheds, crawl spaces, and ground-level storage. Fort Worth properties near alleys, creeks, dumpsters, restaurants, or older utility areas may need a different conversation than a roofline-only issue.
Do not rely on bait alone
Indoor poison can create odor and safety problems if rats die in walls or attics. Ask about inspection, trapping or removal, sanitation factors, and exclusion so the access route is part of the plan.
Common questions
Are rats active during the day?
They can be, especially if pressure is high or food is easy to reach, but many rat calls involve night sounds, attic movement, or early-morning evidence.
Can one rat mean more?
Yes. One sighting can point to a route, food source, or nesting area that needs attention.
